Labour market & employment

Labour law of June 20, 2001 had already predicted that everyone has an equal right to work, to fair, safe and healthy working conditions, as well as to fair work remuneration. The rights provided shall be ensured without any direct or indirect discrimination - irrespective of a person's gender. As well as the Law defined the prohibition of differential treatment. Regarding discrimination in labour relations a person can turn to the State Labour Inspectorate. Applications and complaints submitted to the State Labour Inspectorate were mostly relating to discriminative advertisements in the process of search for employment (on gender, age basis), as well as regarding discrimination on fair work remuneration. The Ombudsman office accepts and examines complaints towards any kind of discrimination of private persons. The process is free of charge.
