State Benefit for Participants of Mitigation of Consequences of Chernobyl Nuclear Clean-up

Persons who participated in mitigation of consequences of Chernobyl nuclear clean-up or their families are entitled to receive special state social benefit.

The following persons are entitled to receive this benefit:

  • Participant of mitigation of consequences of Chernobyl nuclear clean-up (Chernobyl disabled person) starting with the day when disability is established if disability is related to the works performed in mitigating the consequences of Chernobyl nuclear clean-up;
  • family of deceased participant of mitigation of consequences of Chernobyl nuclear clean-up starting with the day of participant's death if the cause for his death is related to the performed works in mitigating the consequences of Chernobyl nuclear clean-up.  

Amount of the benefit is 85.37 euro per month in 2014.

In case of the death of the participant of mitigation of consequences of Chernobyl nuclear clean-up, his or her family can receive one benefit per month regardless of the number of family members.

By family members of participant of mitigation of consequences of Chernobyl nuclear clean-up one understands his/her children younger than 18 years (up to 24 years if they study full-time in vocational or higher educational establishment) as well as spouse, parents and grandchildren if they had been supported by the deceased participant.
