  • 2012-2013
The Study “Work conditions and risks in Latvia 2012-2013” was carried out within the project “Practical application of the legislation regarding labour relations and occupational safety in sectors and companies” with financial support of the European Social Fund of the European Union and the state of Latvia.

Objective of the Study was to carry out analysis of the development of labour safety system in dynamics by evaluation implementation of the proposals provided in similar studies both in 2005–2007 and in 2009–2010.

This Study shall provide additional analytic data in the fields of occupational health, occupational safety and legal labour relations to be potentially serving as a background for adoption of rational and effective decisions for the creation of employment and social policy programs and provision of sustainable development, as well as improvement of the situation of occupational health and safety in different target groups (for example, youth, micro-enterprises etc.).

Study was carried out by "TNS Latvia Ltd." and Riga Stradins University Institute for Occupational Safety and Environmental Health.

  • 2009-2010
The Study “Work conditions and risks in Latvia 2009-2010” was carried out within the project “Practical application of the legislation regarding labour relations and occupational safety in sectors and companies” with financial support of the European Social Fund of the European Union and the state of Latvia.

Objective of the Study was to carry out analysis of the development of labour safety system in dynamics by evaluation implementation of the proposals provided in similar studies in 2005–2007.

During the study was analysed employers, health and safety specialists, employee questionnaires and available occupational health and safety databases, as well as the objective situations (a laboratory measurements).

Study was carried out by "Inspecta Prevention Ltd." and "TNS Latvia Ltd.".

  • 2006
In 2006 with financial support of the European Social Fund of the European Union, within the ESF co-financed national programs "Labour Market Studies" project "Studies of the Ministry of Welfare" was carried out the study "Working Conditions and Risks in Latvia".

Study was carried out by research team which included Latvian and foreign occupational health and safety specialists ("Inspecta Latvia JSC", Riga Stradins University Institute for Occupational Safety and Environmental Health, "TNS Latvia Ltd.".

Objective of the Study “Work conditions and risks in Latvia” was to create analytic basis in the field of occupational health and safety, which would ease rational and effective decision-making for elaboration of employment and social policy programmes and for ensuring sustainable development.

During the Study following groups of people were surveyed: residents of Latvia, employers, occupational health and safety specialists, employees (especially of specially protected and socially castaway groups), health and social care employees. Besides, activities of the Study included analysis of available occupational health and safety data bases, analysis of existing studies, objective assessment of occupational health and safety situation (analysis of measurement results), which ensures that results of the Study could be considered during development of occupational health and safety programme.
