Accessibility in the Ministry of Welfare

The Ministry of Welfare building is located in a historic building built in the early 20th century on 28 School Str., Riga, so ensuring the availability of the environment throughout the building is difficult. The Ministry is deployed in two hulls, in six floors. The building has no elevator.

Meetings with ministry specialists shall be organised in the White Hall of the Ministry, which shall be accessible to visitors with disabilities.

To reach the room, a vertical hoist is installed in the room, which can be used independently or by assisting.

At the entrance to the building, there is a call button. The call shall be answered by a security officer who will organise access and communication with the responsible employee.

In order to enter the courtyard of the Ministry without stepping out of the transport, the security officer may be contacted by telephone, calling 67021693.

A person with disabilities who uses specialised transport has the possibility to park in the courtyard of the Ministry building for a visit.
